Pay Matrix Level L-11 Grade Pay – 4200
Scheme and syllabus of competitive examination for the post of Librarian Grade-2
The Examination shall carry 400 marks. There will be two papers. Both Papers shall be of 200 marks each.
Paper – 1
- The question paper will carry maximum 200 marks.
- Duration of question paper will be 2:00 Hours.
- The question paper will carry 100 questions of multiple choices.
- Negative marking shall be applicable in the evaluation of answers. For every Wrong answer one third of the marks prescribed for that particular question shall be deducted.
Explanation: Wrong answer shall mean an incorrect answer or multiple answers.
- The minimum qualifying marks shall be 40%. Provided that the percentage fixed as above shall be relaxed by 5% for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe.
- Paper shall include following subject:-
- Geographical, Historical, Cultural and general knowledge of Rajasthan.
- Current Affairs of Rajasthan
- General knowledge of world and India
- Educational Psychology.
Paper – 2 Knowledge Organization, Informative Processing and Retrieval.
- The question paper will carry maximum 200 marks.
- Duration of question paper will be2:00 Hours.
- The question paper will carry 100 question of multiple choices.
- Negative marking shall be applicable in the evaluation of answers. For every wrong answer one third of the marks prescribed for that particular question shall be deducted.

- Bibliographic description. Catalog purpose, structure and types Physical forms including OPAC filling rules. Normative of cataloguing. Overview of principles of practice in document description. Current trends in standardization, description and exchange. Standard code of cataloguing.
- Methods of knowledge organization. General theory of Library classification. Normative Principles of classification and their applications. Species of Library classification. Standard schemes of classification and their features. CC, DDC, UDC.
Notation : need, functions, characteristics. Design and development of schemes library classification, standard sub-division index. Trends in library classification
- Subject Classification, Principles of subject classification. Subject heading lists and their features.
